Reef is an abstract strategy game where 2-4 players aged 8 years and over will grow reef and arrange it on the seafloor to score points. Throughout the game players must remember two key rules, only the top most colour will count for scoring, and you cannot remove coral.
The rules for scoring makes the game more challenging than it may seem from first impressions, making it the perfect game for both new and experienced players. Similar to Azul, this is an abstract game that can easily last for hours of competitive fun!
The game begins with players taking on the role of a coral reef and carefully selecting colours and patterns to grow and expand. During each turn, players will decide between picking a new card or playing a card already in hand.
The excellent coral pieces are included in four different vibrant colours and will stack on each other. Towers build up to four coral high and colours can be mixed to make it colourful.
All cards provide a pattern and pieces that will scores points if the existing one already has it. The player with the highest amount of points when the pieces run out wins!
